The 2008 Executive have decided to create a new role within the Association to deal with Alumni matters.
The Alumni Relations Officer will be responsible for coordinating the production of content for the Alumni newsletter, organizing reunions and other Alumni functions and for updating content on the Alumni Website. The Alumni section of the website will include information about Life Members, Association Fellows, past members of the Executive and Working Party, and Conference delegates. They will create profiles for Life Members and Fellows and will answer alumni queries.
The Alumni Officer will liaise with the Secretary of the NAAUC executive to produce a quarterly publication 'NAAUC Talked' – which will be sent to Alumni members to keep them up to date on current dealings of the Association and the Alumni Association; Reunion dates and details; and profiles on past executive members and Life Members of the Association.
The Executive are currently organizing the finer details of an Alumni Event to be held before the annual conference this year in Perth. This event will commemorate the 40 th Anniversary of the Conference itself, a reunion of NAAUC alumni and also function as a launch of the Alumni Association. All Life Members and Association fellows have been invited and all NAAUC alumni are encouraged to join us on the 31 st June - just 3 days before the commencement of the 40th anniversary annual Conference in Perth.
The Executive are currently investigating the establishment up an Alumni Committee to meet and consult about Alumni matters and plan Alumni events. We stress that the creation of these positions is still under consideration and has not been finalized, but anybody who is interested should consult the draft of the position description on the next page, and contact the President at
