Social Events

The social aspect of the NAAUC conference is a chance for you to put your social skills on display with some of the friendliest people in the country. With a busy schedule, it is a great way to meet people from colleges all over Australia, make new friends and a of course it is a fabulous opportunity to let your hair down.

Opening Night

The week begins with a formal Commencement Dinner where you will be welcomed into the UWA spirit while enjoying a delicious meal in the Trinity Dining Hall. After dinner it will definitely be time for a boogie. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet your fellow NAAUC delegates, so while your college is undoubtedly the most desirable in Australia, try to avoid spending the night with delegates from your own college so you can get to know as many people from all over Australia as you can.

Parliamentary Debating

Always one of the highlights of the week long conference is Parliamentary Debating, with this year being held at Parliament House in Perth. Ask any past delegate, the NAAUC Parliamentary Debating evening is not only one of the most intellectually stimulating events, but also one of the most amusing. The model debate gives delegates the opportunity to match their wit in an educational and slightly comical look at contentious college issues.

Scribble Party

A much loved tradition at Trinity is their annual Scribble Party, which the conference team is proud to share with you this year! As the name may suggest this night will involve you all getting dressed in blank white shirts, bringing along a permanent marker and going to town on each others clothes and bodily extremities. This will be a great night to meet other delegates and in case you can't remember much the next morning maybe the doodles on your arms will help you piece it together.

Concert

This year our lucky delegates will have the first taste of the newest NAAUC social event in recent history, the NAAUC concert. This night will be a showcase of home grown West Australian musical talent. What better way for our delegates to lose their voice and hearing in one great night! More importantly it is yet another opportunity for delegates to take something away from the NAAUC experience. Who could pass up a night like that?

Trivia Night

Know what kolpophobia is? Know the length of the longest female beard ever grown? Put away your textbooks because no amount of studying will help you answer some of the bizarre trivia we have in store. With special bonus rounds and some interesting bonus challenges along the way, Trivia Night can be a lot more fun than the name suggests. Come prepared with your brain and your sense of humour for an exciting and action-packed night of education.

 Cultural Tour

It’s time to dig up that crazy fresher hat they made you wear back in O’Week or that embarrassing legionnaires hat your mother made you wear in primary school for a night of fun and sights in Perth. See Perth’s many tourist attractions and get to know the place the UWA kids call home on our "Crazy Hat" cultural tour.

Coffee Crawl

For all those coffee addicts out there who need a caffeine injection to give them a boost and keep them awake throughout the next day’s lectures, the Coffee Crawl is for you. Even if you hate coffee but love a bit of dessert, you’ll find this tour amazing.

Ball

By now you have been appropriately trained to tackle the Grand Finale – The 2008, Annual NAAUC Conference Ball! Show your new lifelong buddies how they do it at the college you call home. Set in a stunning mystery location, the ball will be a fabulous mix of elegance, dancing and of course good food! There will also be a first class afterparty if you just can’t stop boogying. The NAAUC 2008 Ball will be a memorable way to end what is bound to be an amazing conference.
