Social Responsibility

The Conference program includes a hands on community service activity, discussion groups to share ideas about effective community service programs and environment initiatives and a 'Global Dinner' which is aimed at raising awareness of global issues.

NAAUC are committed to promoting equity at the Conference. We have appointed Equity Officer to deal with any delegate complaints or issues during the 8 days and offer scholarships to encourage wide representation at the Conference.

Community Service

The purpose of the annual community service day is to give delegates a chance to appreciate the work that certain groups within the wider community do. The 2008 NAAUC Community Service Day is set to be an exciting and rewarding event. This year we will revegetate, regenerate, and revive a neglected site into a living wonderland of flora, fauna and fun. With our day involving greening our thumbs with tree planting in a stretch of land that crosses over both Willetton and Parkwood.

Scholarships

Colleges’ residents are a diverse and dynamic group of individuals. They come from a range of backgrounds and choose to live and participate in college life for a number of different reasons.

The National Association of Australian University Colleges Inc (NAAUC) aims to provide support and resources for all types of college residents. This is achieved primarily through the running of an annual conference. Over the past few years, however, NAAUC has found it difficult to attract a conference delegation which reflects an accurate cross-section of the current college community. In order to overcome this problem the NAAUC Executive Committee is offering a number of scholarships to provide financial assistance to delegates who wish to attend the conference.
