Professional Development Seminars
“It is fantastic to have real college students teaching us about real college issues”
- Incoming Committee Member, Edwards Hall
In 40 years NAAUC has been able to accumulate a wealth of knowledge from committees all over the country. This is knowledge that we want to share with you. Since November 07, our experienced team of Michael Douglas, Nathan Eva, Genevieve Wood, Mathew Bock and other alumni has worked with 22 colleges from four states and a territory presenting seminars on a variety of college issues.
With College Committees only serving on an annual basis often the ideas, enthusiasm and professionalism can be lost from year to year. With a NAAUC PDS this can be combated and makes sure your committee has the best start to the college year.
A NAAUC Executive Member or experienced Alumni member is ideal for the presentation of professional development for:
End of Year Committee Changeover
Planning Your O’Week
Mid Year Committee Evaluation
Recapturing the Passion
Unexpected Issues that Arise
NAAUC has experiencing in delivering presentations on a whole range of issues affecting college. Some of these issues include:
Your Committee: Vision, Values and Perception;
Operational Professionalism;
Pastoral Care issues in college;
O-Week planning and structuring;
Event/Risk Management;
Goal Setting and Strategic Planning;
However, this list is not exhaustive, and if an issue that is not on this list and it affects your college, its likely that through our network of alumni that we can find someone who has faced the same situation that you are, in a different college.
