Equity Policy
When delegates attend the Conference this July, they can be confident that they will be walking into a safe, inclusive and friendly environment. To that end we have created an equity policy to be administrated by designated officers during the Conference.
The National Association of Australian University Colleges Executive and Working Party is committed to a policy of equal opportunity in all areas of college life. The Executive and Working Party accept that it is their responsibility to create and environment free from discrimination and to ensure that a principal of merit is able to operate free from regard to irrelevant criteria.
These criteria may include but are not limited to sex, marital status, pregnancy, race, age, religion, sexual preference, political beliefs, impairment, family responsibility and family status.
People are to be treated fairly as individuals with rights and responsibilities that are to be respected. No person is to be unfairly discriminated against, abused or exploited. The Executive and Working Party aim to promote a just environment whereby all members are able to access any opportunities they may wish and to facilitate full participation in college community.
All persons are to conduct themselves in a personally professional manner, upholding the expectations of themselves, any institution they represent, St Andrew’s College, the Executive and the Working Party at all times.
Any issue that my arise should be reported to the appropriate person as soon as practical so resolution procedures can be commenced, with the aim of preventing and further harm to any person, college, NAAUC and its agents.
The policy and procedures adopted by NAAUC is aimed to:
