Applications for the indigenous scholarship for 2019 are now open
NAAUC values the contribution of Indigenous students to both the National Conference and to the individual’s residence. NAAUC strongly believes that residential communities can play a significant role in making university campuses more welcoming to Indigenous students.
This scholarship was created as a result of NAAUC’s Cultural Audit in 2018.
Please note that this scholarship covers the cost of a full delegate ticket, but does not cover transport costs or spending money while at conference.
Identifies as an Indigenous Australian.
Currently living in a residential community.
Interest in improving the residential community environment at your residence and nationally.
Please note that while having a leadership position at your residence will be viewed favourably, it is not a precondition to applying for the scholarship.
DUE: Friday 8 November (5pm)
SUBMISSION: via email to the NAAUC Secretary, Charlotte Maybery-Reupert, at email@example.com.
INCLUDE: 1-2 pages maximum which provides
an explanation of why you want to attend Conference; and
an explanation of what you would like to get out of Conference, and what you would like to take back to your residence; and
a written reference from the President/Head RA/Head of Residence (whoever is considered most suitable).
THE RECIPIENT OF THE indigenous SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
Exhibit behaviours during the conference that exemplify NAAUC’s values.
Complete a diary throughout conference (approx 100 words per day) critiquing the conference experience.
