Lavinia is the Victorian State Representative for 2026. She resided at Mannix for 2025 and will again as she takes on the role of Residential Advisor (RA) in 2026.  She was a member of the Food Services Advisory Committee in 2025, where she advocated for students and planned events. VICTORIA STATE VISION

  • Empower, develop and support student leaders

NAAUC recognises that support and development of students leaders creates a wider benefit for the residential community.

Due to year-long tenures in many student leadership positions, leaders are tasked with rapidly adapting to their roles, navigating complexities, and addressing immediate challenges. NAAUC aims to support leaders in overcoming these initial challenges, so space can be made for purpose driven leadership to evolve residence culture. NAAUC provides development opportunities through NOTRs, consults, regular communication and the annual conference. By expanding the network of leaders, they can benefit from both NAAUC’s support but also those in similar roles across Australia. NAAUC empowers student leaders to think beyond the now and advance the legacy they hope to leave for their college culture.

  • Strengthen and support connection between residences

As the overarching body of student leaders across Australian university residential living spaces, NAAUC is best placed to facilitate a strong network of intercollegiate leadership.

NAAUC provides a space for connection to flourish through intentional events, targeted leadership training and continuous communication. These actions continue to advance the sense of community among colleges as well as that in residences too. NAAUC facilitates academic and social spaces for leaders. This enables knowledge, experiences and ideas to be shared, further encouraging connection between leaders and their communities.

  • Promote diversity and inclusivity within the college sphere

An inclusive and accessible community culture for all.

NAAUC envisions a future where every student feels safe, included and celebrated at their residence. Community sits as the core of college culture, therefore every resident should feel entirely comfortable to be themselves within that community. NAAUC supports residences to promote positive change in moving toward a more inclusive and accessible environment for all. Through targeted training and proactive outreach efforts, NAAUC aims to cultivate a space where diversity is embraced. By championing diversity initiatives and fostering an environment of acceptance and respect, NAAUC strives to create college communities that celebrate the unique perspectives and contributions of all college residents.

Victoria NAAUC History

Hosting some of the most active College’s in the nation, Victorian and Melbourne Colleges have always played an important role in the National Association.

Melbourne University hosts some of the nation's oldest and most historic Colleges, many of which were founding members of the National Association. Colleges in Melbourne, like the city, have developed a highly evolved approach to residential communities, and have some of the most celebrated and inclusive communities in the country.

NAAUC has also had significant partnerships with residences urban and rural at Swinburne, Deakin, Latrobe and Federation Uni.

There is not a College in Victoria which hasn’t been connected to NAAUC throughout its history, and Melbourne Colleges have always played an important role in NAAUC’s management committee. In 2020, NAAUC’s President hailed from St Hilda’s College. NAAUC has drawn President’s from Queen’s College, Ormond College, and Mannix College, as well as Executive members from Trinity College and International House, all in the last ten years.

Over the past decade, NAAUC has hosted seven Conferences in Melbourne, at Queens College, Ormond College, St Hilda’s College, International House, and Mannix College.
