Luca Maher
Luca is a Working Party member of NAAUC in 2026. They are entering their third year at the University of Melbourne, studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in philosophy and anthropology. Luca is currently the Vice-President of Newman College, having previously served as Queer Representative in 2024, and Equity Head in 2025. Luca is deeply passionate about student wellbeing and pastoral care, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion. They are especially interested in addressing gender based violence and promoting primary prevention initiatives within residential communities. Luca is motivated by creating college environments that are safe and supportive spaces for students to live, grow, and thrive. As a member of the NAAUC working Party, Luca is excited to contribute to initiatives that strengthen university residences across Australia.

NAAUC’s Working Party is responsible for assisting in the execution of NAAUC’s critical programs, namely National Conference, and the Academic Program. The Working Party is also tasked with assisting the NAAUC to complete growth projects and deliver offerings where required and where possible. Under the leadership of the Vice President (Development), the Working Party will work collectively on new initiatives. The Working Party will consist of a series of Portfolio Officers, and some General Officers.
