NATIONAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE AWARDS

Every year the Association recognises the achievements of students, student teams, and College communities across the country. The NAAUC Awards Program takes nominations from any individual, including staff and students at Colleges and University residences. 

Only Member Colleges and their residents are eligible to receive awards, but anyone can nominate a recipient.

Recipients will be invited to attend the National Conference Opening Dinner as honoured guests.

Community Service Award

Awarded to an individual or student group who have given back to the broader community through an initiative they have run throughout the year. The initiative can take any form, some examples of appropriate initiatives are a volunteer program, community event, or awareness campaign. 

Nominations should outline in no more than 300 words, the program which involved service to groups outside of the College community, what positive impact it had, and what makes it stand out as a program or initiative. 

Leadership Excellence Award

Awarded to an individual who has shown excellence in leadership throughout the year. The recipient of this award is someone who stands apart from a typical College leader through their integrity, hard work, and innovative mindset. 

Nominations should outline in no more than 300 words the individual's character, some examples of work they have done throughout the year, and why they should be the recipient of this award. 

Changemaker Award

This award goes to any individual living in a college or university residence who, through enterprise and hard work, has implemented an outstanding new initiative or program in their community. The initiative or program can take any form and should have had a positive impact on the individuals fellow residents.

Nominations should outline in no more than 300 words, the details of the program or initiative, the impact it had on the community, and what the nominee did to contribute to its success. 

First Year Emerging Leader Award

This award goes to a student who is in their first year of living on campus. The individual should have shown outstanding leadership potential through their engagement with community and service, or through an initiative they helped to implement within their residence. 

Nominations should outline, in no more than 300 words, how the individual has contributed to their community throughout the year, and what qualities they possess which highlight their future leadership ability.

Community Spirit Award

This award goes to a college or residence which has demonstrated outstanding community spirit through an initiative, tradition, or program which helps build the profile of University Residences more broadly. The program or initiative can take any form but should have highlighted the positive impact Colleges and University Residences have on broader society. 

Nominations can come from within a residence, and should outline in no more than 300 words, the details of the program or initiative which is noteworthy, and how it contributed positively to the broader community and the reputation of Colleges and University Residences more broadly.
