NAAUC NATIONAL CONFERENCE BID

ENTER A BID NOW TO HOST THE 2024 NAAUC NATIONAL CONFERENCE

HOW TO ENTER

The NAAUC National Conference is made possible by the hard work of the NAAUC Executive, State Representatives and Working Party - but the National Conference is nothing without a home.

Hosting the NAAUC National Conference gives you the opportunity to play a vital role in the education and empowerment of young leaders from around Australia. The NAAUC National Conference is held annually in November/ December.

The dates of the conference are yet to be confirmed by the NAAUC Executive Committee, but we ask bidding colleges to consider the draft dates of the 25th of November - 1st of December 2024.

To ensure that potential hosts can put together their strongest possible bid, NAAUC is requesting all bidding residences complete the application form below.

Applications are now open

THE BIDDING PROCESS

  • NAAUC will shortlist a small number of bids from the entries and ask them to compile a full prospectus outlining the benefits of holding the National Conference at their college or residence.

  • In the shortlist phase, developing your bid may be a collaborative process, as NAAUC will want to ensure that your bid has reached all the requirements for hosting the National Conference before concluding the process.

  • Once shortlisted, preparation is key. In past, the winning residences have not been chosen based on their exotic location or impressive infrastructure but demonstrated their exceptional organisational skills by presenting a well laid out, informative and concise bid that fulfills the needs of the Association.

BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT LEADERS

PREPARATION

If you are a student leader and want to submit a bid, there are several steps to be taken including brainstorming, discussion with your residence, collating logistics and entering a bid.

Think about how the conference at your college or residence would run. Have a brainstorm session about social events, the structure of the conference, guest speakers and locations. Who are some famous or successful alumni from your residence or university? What makes your residence unique?

The staff at your residence also need to be supportive of your conference bid. Involve them in the discussions about the benefits and requirements of hosting the National Conference. Be sure to discuss the accommodation and catering costs, logistics and any other matters you feel would be raised from an administrative point of view.  If your residence alone is too small to host the conference, you might think to approach a partner residence to co-host the conference.

After the initial application below is filled out, we will be in touch with you regarding further requirements and evaluation of your bid.
