NATIONAL CONFERENCE
SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES
NAAUC prides itself on promoting diversity in conversation and ensuring equal opportunity for all. To facilitate this, we offer several scholarships. These range from a partial cover to fully funded. This is to enable high quality candidates who are interested in student leadership and furthering their residential communities to attend our National Conference. Our scholarships are also designed to maximise personal and professional gain from attending the National Conference.

Meet Kimjoline.
IKimjoline is NAAUCs 2025 South Australian State Representative and is currently residing at Aquinas College in Adelaide whilst in her second year studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science. Kim shares with us her journey with NAAUC and how our scholarships & bursaries program removed financial pressure so she could show up for herself and her community.
Community Scholarship
This scholarship is directed towards people who are high achievers within our residential communities. This can be through academic, sporting, or cultural/community excellence and contributions. It is to assist those people whose financial circumstances additionally hinders their access to the National Conference.
Recipients of this scholarship will be granted reimbursement to the value of one NAAUC National Conference ticket.
Applicants should outline below, in no more than 300 words, why they should be the recipient of the Community Scholarship.
Please make particular mention of your achievements during your time living in a rollege or residence, be they related to academics, sporting, leadership, service, or any other area. Please also explain the financial circumstances which have hindered your ability to attend the National Conference. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist those people whose financial circumstances additionally hinders their access to the National Conference, in particular, the circumstances which may have hindered your college or residence from sponsoring your attendance.
Equity Scholarship
NAAUC believes in creating communities that are more diverse, inclusive and representative of our broader society. We believe that we hold a significant responsibility to make university campuses and residences more welcoming and accessible. This is to aid in ensuring that everyone has a place within residential communities across Australia. This scholarship aims to assist in facilitating students within disadvantaged communities in attending our National Conference, to share their experiences and ideas and to engage in discussion with student leaders from around Australia. This may include, but is not limited to, individuals from groups such as LGBTQIA+, POC, people with disabilities, and First Nations Peoples, and women in leadership.
Recipients of this scholarship will be granted reimbursement to the value of one NAAUC National Conference ticket.

Please also explain the financial or societal barriers which may have hindered your ability to attend the National Conference, in particular, the circumstances which may have hindered your college or residence from sponsoring your attendance.
Changemakers Scholarship
Supported by the NAAUC Alumni
The Changemakers Scholarship is for a student who is keen to undertake a formal project looking into an area of research which they believe is of importance in the residential sector. Previous scholarship recipients have investigated topics such as sex education in Australian residences and diversity in residential student leadership teams.
Recipients of this scholarship will be granted reimbursement to the value of one NAAUC National Conference ticket.
Please outline below, in no more than 300 words, the project or research you would like to undertake during, or after, your time at the National Conference.
Please provide an explanation as to why this topic is of interest to you, and how you plan to make an impact on your community by undertaking this project. Please also elaborate, if you can, on how your project will enrich the experience of other delegates at the National Conference. Please outline, in no more than 200 words, why you should be the recipient of the Changemakers Scholarship.
Please make particular mention of your achievements during your time living in a college or residence, be they related to academics, sporting, leadership, service, or any other area. Changemakers Scholarship (Members Only)
Supported by the NAAUC Alumni
Member residences have access to an additional scholarship. The scholarship has the same application and award requirements and criteria as the changemakers scholarship and is also supported by the NAAUC Alumni.
Recipients of this scholarship will be granted reimbursement to the value of one NAAUC National Conference ticket.
Travel Bursary
The NAAUC Travel Bursary is in place to provide additional assistance to delegates travelling to the National Conference. We understand that travel costs can often prevent many students from realising opportunities and experiences. The Travel Bursary amount is contingent upon communication with the NAAUC Executive Committee and contributed amounts are at the discretion of the NAAUC Executive Committee. Applications made for a Travel Bursary in conjunction with a NAAUC Scholarships will be given higher consideration.
Recipients of the travel bursary will be granted reimbursement of some value for the costs of travel to the NAAUC National Conference. This amount will depend on the costs of flights and will be determined by the NAAUC Scholarships Subcommittee.
